Winter

This is the Mrs. of positive rant. I have found something to look forward to in winter, I have discovered snow shoeing! I really dragged my feet the first day I was going to try it. It was 25 degrees out, about 10 degrees below what I consider my comfort zone. Thanks to my motivating and dedicated friend Ingrid, we got out there and had a lot of fun, and got some good exercise. So much so that I talked Eric into buying a pair, and we went out together the very next day.

Since then the snow has melted. I'm happy to say that I can't wait for it to dump a bunch a snow again, so I can get back out there! This is saying a lot because it's coming from a Florida girl. Bring it on, mother nature!

Great Movies

Let me list some that are ALWAYS great:

The Maltese Falcon - Say what you will, Bogart is awesome and the writing is spot on. Hilarious and clever, we should all talk and act this cool.

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Wes Anderson always takes us places we don't usually go. Again, great writing wins the day with me, but stop motion animation is a strong plus!

Trick R Treat - Best halloween movie in a long time (if ever). Makes you want to respect and celebrate Halloween like no other. Throwback to when movies made you jump and creep out without cheap gimmicks (and at least enjoy the gimmicks when you see them.

It's a Wonderful Life - I cry every time. Solid all the way through. Donna Reed. Nuff said.

Rocky - It's a love story with some boxing. Yeah, Stallone turned into a stereotype, but this was before all that. At the end he doesn't even care about the decision and the hype, he just wants Adrian. Again, I cry every goddamn time. Plus Pauly is at his jerkiest and creepiest in this one.

Cocoanuts - Never seen a Marx Brothers movie? See this one and start. Again, if only I could be this funny and talented. Back then guys like this actually did the stunts and played the music and sang and danced. Vaudeville made them great but the movies made them stars.

I am sure that I'll list others further down the line, stay tuned.

Bowling...

So I recently started bowling again! I haven't seriously rolled a ball since jr. high. My friend Sam and I started going during his lunch hour and have since both gotten our own balls (go ahead... say it...). We also have learned to hook the ball!
This is seriously exciting to me, and now all I want to do is practice!

Thanks to my mom for signing me up in 4th grade for weekend league bowling. I am now back in bowling alleys eating french fries and drinking soda on a regular basis. Life is good.

Let's get things started

So this is my new project. Positive Rant. I, like most people, enjoy raging and complaining WAY too much. So in an effort to nip this behavior in the literal bud, I am starting a blog that only talks about positive things happening in my life.
About me, I am a tattoo artist who owns Wild Zero Studios in Morgantown,WV. My job puts me in contact with all manner of clients as well as artist types. I have a great wife and daughter. The people I call my friends I am proud to associate with, and hope they feel the same way.
I am naming names in this thing, but since it's all good, no one should mind.

I am going to come off as goofy and hippy dippy, but anyone that knows me knows that I am just goofy; and as grumpy and moody as anyone can get.

Let the good times roll!
